Terms of use
These terms need review by a qualified adviser before launch.
Using the site
- Show Me The Motor is a classified listings site. We are not a party to any sale between buyers and sellers.
- Sellers must own the car or be authorised to sell it, and must describe it accurately.
- Don't post misleading, offensive or unlawful content. We may remove listings and accounts that break these rules.
Listings
Listings are free and run for 60 days. You can renew, edit, mark as sold or remove your listing at any time.
Dealer stock feeds
- Only an authorised dealer or its authorised stock provider may supply a stock feed. The dealer remains responsible for every vehicle, description, photo, price and disclosure. Dealer listings are identified as trade adverts.
- You grant Show Me The Motor a non-exclusive licence to download, store, resize and display the supplied photos and text to advertise your vehicles. You confirm you have the rights and permissions needed to grant this licence. Do not supply personal information in descriptions or photos that you are not authorised to publish.
- Displayed prices must include VAT where applicable and every mandatory fee. Our importer adds an optional admin_fee to price. Omit admin_fee or set it to zero when price already includes that fee, so it is not charged twice.
- Describe stock accurately, disclose recorded insurance write-off categories, and remove sold or unavailable vehicles promptly. We do not accept Category A or Category B vehicles.
- Each feed is a complete stock snapshot. A valid snapshot can mark omitted stock as sold. Feed listings refresh automatically and expire after 60 days without a refresh. Update their vehicle details through your stock system; you can mark them sold or withdraw them through your account.
- We may reject feed rows, suspend a feed, or remove listings and accounts where the content is inaccurate, unauthorised, unlawful or breaches these terms. Imports do not certify a vehicle's condition, history or legal status.
Connecting a feed requires dealer permission and acceptance of these terms. Feed terms also need qualified legal review before launch.
